MUSICIAN PARKING
Starting Friday August 15th, Metropolis has launched an important new program titled Park & Play, providing free parking for musicians at 25 lots/garages across Nashville. For those familiar with the previous “musicians discount program”, which offered 60% off, this is a (major) expansion of that initiative.
In order to prevent abuse of the offer, there are currently two available ways to be vetted as a working musician and gain access to the benefit:
1. Play a show at a local independent venue that’s a part of the Music Venue Alliance Nashville (MVAN). QR codes will be distributed by each venue when a show is booked, and also be available to scan with management during load in/out on day of show. If the venue you’re playing isn’t a member yet, encourage them to reach out to info@mvan.org and inquire about joining.
2. Be a member of the Nashville Musicians Association. All union members are eligible to register their vehicles with this program, and this is especially helpful for those playing venues that might not be within the MVAN network. While there is a cost to join the union, dues are likely less than you’d pay to park downtown for a month of shows!
