Runaway June

There’s a sound that hasn’t been heard on country radio in quite some time – the sound of organic, three-part female harmonies, ringing strings and stories that speak the language of modern women everywhere. It’s a sound that was the backbone of a little group known as The Dixie Chicks, and now it’s making a comeback through a vocal trio named Runaway June. Rootsy, brightly colored and mixing bluegrass tradition with dusty desert cool, Runaway June is comprised of three very different women who fuse their own influences to create a style country fans have been craving. The song is an instant singalong that neither laments, caters to, bashes or attacks the loss of a relationship but rather celebrates the freedom, spirit and independence of a female having a night out on her own.

Each of these talented young ladies were unsurprisingly Dixie Chicks fans, and each could have been a solo artist in her own right. But after forming a friendship and discovering their shared love for acoustic soul, soaring vocals and do-it-yourself positivity, Runaway June was born.

In a time when female voices have been squeezed into a few narrow categories at country radio – the bad girls, the good girls, the crusaders – Runaway June want to break the mold. They know women’s lives are far more diverse, and even though their sound is rooted in the timeless, their stories are very much of the here and now.

Jessie Ritter

Jessie Ritter is a country singer/songwriter based in Pensacola, Florida. She grew up on farms in Southeast Missouri, fishing with her family before homework began and making up her first songs—performed mostly to the neighbor’s livestock. Jessie left home at eighteen to pursue her education in Tennessee. During her years in Nashville she earned a degree from Belmont University’s School of Music and developed her own voice in the vibrant songwriting community of Music City. While attending college Jessie wrote and recorded her first EP. Stories Told blends traditional country, modern folk, and Jessie’s unique songwriting. Ranging from quirky love songs like "Talking in General" to the dark roots revival "Gypsy River,” and the ever-lovable pop/country title track, “Stories Told,” this debut project showcases the depth of Jessie’s heart.

Julia Cole

Songwriter and recording artist, Julia Cole, has created a fresh Country R&B sound true to her Houston, TX roots. Cole is making waves on the road opening for acts such as Dan + Shay, Jon Pardi, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Kane Brown, The Chainsmokers, Lee Brice, Jon Langston, Eli Young Band, Chris Lane, Michael Ray, Jake Owen and many more. When listening to Cole's music, you can hear the honesty and emotion in every lyric, while the catchy rhythms and hooks keep you up on your feet.
