Now, in it's 4th year, She's A Rebel: A Girl Group Tribute will be kicking off Black History and Women's History month with not one, but TWO shows, Friday Feb. 16 and Saturday Feb. 17! That's TWO BACK-TO-BACK NIGHTS of your favorites, chart toppers and deep cuts of the 1950s/60s Girl Group era. We look forward to having double the fun! Tickets will be sold to each night individually, links below.

In the era of mid-1950's to early 1960's, it was music of The Girl Groups (The Ronettes, The Shangri-Las, The Crystals, etc.) that defined the sound of popular music. It was the beginning of Second Wave feminism and this was music that gave voice to the challenges and dreams of women; made international superstars out of many - particularly women of color - and united America during the Jim Crow and desegregation years. However, too often this music is unfairly marginalized as novelty and repeatedly discussed paternalistically as a cultural placeholder - or, the moment between Elvis and The Beatles - the contributions of these women minimized and overshadowed by the careers of the men that surrounded them (The Beach Boys, Phil Spector, Barry Gordy, Elvis, The Beatles, et al). Now in it's fourth year, She's A Rebel: A Girl Group Tribute continues to be inspired by the role these women played in our musical heritage. The show is not just an opportunity to pay tribute to these Rock n Roll foremothers, but also a way to support and foster an integrated, cooperative community of women whose unique voices and diverse talents make Nashville so distinctive.
